aplicaRev Cal Base

Mortar made with non-hydraulic lime, for the renovation of brickwork and old surfaces.
Use as an undercoat in conjunction with aplicaRev Cal Revoco.
Lime-based undercoat mortar specially designed for use on brickwork and old surfaces. GP-CS I – W0 in accordance with Standard UNE-EN 998-1.

Instructions for use

  1. Before you apply the product, clean the application surface to eliminate all traces of the old mortar.
  2. Add water and mix until you obtain a paste of the required consistency.
  3. Fill any holes and joints between stones on the surface using the same product, then apply the required thickness of the base mortar.
  4. Apply the thickness required in accordance with the condition of the surface, between 10 and 50 mm. If thicknesses of more than 10 mm are required, apply in different layers 15 mm thick.
  5. It is advisable to reinforce the first layer with fibreglass netting. This net will remain inside the paste with a 5 mm layer of mortar underneath it.
Warnings and recommendations
  • Do not apply onto plaster or painted surfaces.
  • Do not apply this product when frost or rain are forecasted.
  • Do not apply at temperatures below 5ºC or above 35ºC.
  • In joints between different materials or where there is a risk of cracking, reinforce the mortar with a fibreglass net.
  • It is advisable to moisten absorbent or very hot surfaces before applying the product and 24 hours afterwards in order to prevent the mortar from becoming overly dry or less strong.
  • Do not apply onto waterproofed surfaces.
  • This product is ready to mix with water. Do not add any kind of additional substance which may alter its properties.
  • Use within 1 year of date of packaging. Store the product in its original sealed packaging in a dry, covered place protected from humidity.

aplicaRev Undercoat Mortar is available in 30 kg paper sacks with moisture-proof plastic lining, dispatched on shrink-wrapped pallets weighing a total of 1,260 kg (42 sacks).

 
Application Surfaces
  • Old lime surfaces, cement mortars, mixed mortars, brickwork and concrete blocks.
  • The surfaces must be resistant, hard, stable, in good condition and free from any oils and grease.
Applications
  • Used as a base mortar to level out any surface irregularities on the application surface.
