Modality of use and contraindications

JT CAPAJOINT 3K is not an elastic product, for this reason,
the supports must be fixed and non-deformable, not subject to movements beyond the elastic oscillations and vibrations, typical of the structures. Therefore, prefabricated light and thin panel supports are not suitable. The joints must be completely cleaned before application, removing traces of cement throughout the thickness of the tile, and there must be no traces of dust, oil or other adhesive substances. Furthermore, it is essential that the joints and the mortar used for installation are dry. A very important element to obtain good results with JT CAPAJOINT 3K is the ambient temperature, which considerably influences the time of use of the product and the walkability of the floors; In fact, at 20oC (ideal temperature value for uncomplicated use) the application time (if used as an adhesive) is approximately 30 minutes, the setting time is about 60 minutes and the walkability time is approximately 24 hours; At 15oC these values lengthen consider- ably, thus allowing normal use after about 80 hours, while above 30oC the use time can be signifi- cantly reduced.

Scope

Making joints in floors and ceramic coverings of all types (except those with absorbent surfaces) up to 20 mm wide in: environments intended for the food industry (dairy plants, slaughterhouses, wine cellars, sausage factories and cheese factories), swimming pools and ponds containing chemically aggressive liquids, laboratory benches, kitchen benches, hospitals, where a coating with superior durability, ease of cleaning and beauty characteristics is desired.

Use as adhesive

Apply JT CAPAJOINT EPOXI 3K according to UNE-EN 12004 with a metal trowel with indicated teeth to the tiles that must be placed. Indoors, place the tiles using adequate pressure so that contact with the adhesive is at least 85% of its surface for wall tiles and 95-100% for floors. Outdoors, in humid environments and ponds, the contact between adhesive, support and tiles must be 100%. At 23°C the application time is approximately 50 minutes, and the duration of the mixture in the bottle is approximately 45 minutes. Under unfavorable conditions (very high ambient temperature, e.g. 30°C) these time intervals can also be considerably reduced; In these cases, it is recommended to use the product within 30 minutes, applying it in small quantities and avoiding application if it is too thick in the bottle. Floors made with JT CAPAJOINT EPOXI 3K according to UNE-EN 12004 can be walked on with caution after approximately 24 hours for grouting, they can be fully subjected to stress after 4 days at 23°C temperature. In case of temperature below 15 degrees, application is not recommended.

Use as grouting mortar

Spread JT CAPAJOINT EPOXI 3K Porcelain with a rubber trowel, applying enough pressure to penetrate thoroughly. Then remove the excess product by passing the rubber trowel diagonally across the treated surfaces. Then wring a sponge moistened with warm water over the tiles and, using a medium-hard felt, emulsify the excess sealant with circular movements. Remove residue with the sponge, rinsing it abundantly and replacing it when it is too soaked. To carry out a good job, it is important to clean a few minutes after installation since, if too much time passes, cleaning would be very complicated.
